Translation Strategies Of Guanzhong Culture From The Perspective Of Cultural Translation Theory

Folk custom has always been a hot topic in folk literature,which,on one hand,can make the work more readable,and on the other,can add its art value.The translation of such texts can not only help us review the local culture,but also make our distinguished native culture known to foreigners.White Deer Plain written by Chen Zhongshi tells a story about the historical changes of white deer village in Shanxi province.Based on Susan Bassnett’s cultural translation theory,this report selects various examples from the 18^th chapter,and explores some practical translation strategies from perspectives of cultural communication,cultural equivalence,and cultural facsimile.The main conclusion is that when translating folk custom,translators should focus on cultural connotation rather than semantic meaning in order to realize cultural communication and cultural equivalence.The author hopes this study can help provide some practical solutions to resolve the problems that might arise in translating Chinese culture texts,and that Chinese culture can spread abroad.
