Akutagawa Ryunosuke is concerned to be one of the most outstanding representative writers in Japanese modern literary world.During 11 years of writing career,he has published over 10 collections of short novels and an enormous amount ofLiterary criticism articles,travel notes,poems,haiku poems and so on.In 1950,because of the world famous film Rashomon,Akutagawa Ryunosuke gradually became to be known by other countries,his books have been translated into English,Russian,French,Italian,and German.He is the unique citizen of the world.As the influence of family environment,Akutagawa Ryunosuke started the oriental classical culture study very young,so he's got profound Japanese and Chinese literature accumulations.And his early western culture concentration made himcan accept all aspects of digestion and absorption capacities of Western thought.However,the blending of Eastern and Western cultures provides a unique nutrient for Akutagawa Ryunosuke's literary creation,which makes him think,grasp and fill the gap between Eastern and Western cultures.He suffered strong pain in the East-West cultural collision and had to choose to stay in front of the religion in exchange for a moment of quiet,but he still can not find the spirit of cultural compromise of the township in religion,then he came to his end with this huge depression.This article will focus on the Eastern and Western cultures positions throughout Akutagawa Ryunosuke's literary creation.There are three aspects of this article,showing the detailedtransformation of the Eastern and Western cultures in his literature positions.I wish that this article can provide some help to continuing study of Akutagawa Ryunosuke's literary creation,also hope to provide some communication help to promote the Chinese-Japanese cultural exchangesin today's increasingly frequent cultural exchanges.
