The Comprehensive Application Of Metal Material In Lacquer Art Creation

It has been a long process for the introduction and application of metallic materials in painting.The contemporary lacquer painting has its origin from the traditional lacquer art,and it inherits part of the traditional materials and techniques of the traditional lacquer art.But the lacquer art grows with the passage of time,continuous progress of technology and the change of people’s aesthetic taste.This change is mutual as the continuous innovation of the materials influences the change of the art itself while people’s aesthetic changes affect the innovation and application of materials.The changes and applications do not occur within the lacquer art itself,but among various kinds of paintings for exchanges and lessons.Rock painting,Chinese painting and oil painting all have their respective applications of metal materials and some of their skills have been used in the lacquer art.This paper will study the types,basic characteristics,methods of application of metal materials in contemporary art.In lacquer production,the common metal materials include gold,silver,copper,aluminum,tin,lead,etc..These metal materials,after being processed into sheet metal,wire,mesh,sheet,foil,powder,are used in lacquer art creation.The main techniques are foiling,ramming powder,embedding,mosaic,tracing a design in gold,and gold halo.The contemporary artists use these materials and techniques innovatively in order to express their different ideas.the modern lacquer art,following in the tradition,at the same time expands in its unceasing development.The use of metal materials helps to explore,improve and expand the whole system of the lacquer art.
