| A Dream of Red Mansions is the pinnacle of the ancient Chinese classical novels,the concubine images of this group can reflect the rich of thoughts and feelings of author and imply rich cultural connotation.This paper attempt to understand and analysis the sources and categories of concubines,understand their family life and destiny,perspective ideological and cultural connotation of the work and analyze the art of characterization by systematic overall grasping the concubine images of A Dream of Red Mansions.This thesis is divided into the following five parts:First,introduction.This part defines the research object,introduces the present research status of this topic,explains importance and state application prospect of this topic.Second,the sources and categories of concubines.The sources of concubines can be divided into four parts :buying and selling women,giving away women,taking in maidservants and marrying a woman.Concubines can be divided into three types by status :the second branch,maternal aunt and building wench.Third,the family life and destiny of concubines.The status of concubines is so humble that suppressed human nature can not be released and deformed personality and defiance is developed.The best ending for concubines is installed.In many cases,they will be given away,drove away even sold,living a more miserable life.Fourth,perspective ideological and cultural connotation of the work through the images of concubines.Analyzing the images of concubines as the starting point,the ideological and cultural connotation of the work can be expressed as the family ethics of feudal extended family,the conception of females of focusing on the life and appreciating talents and the feudal patriarchal ideas of binding decline.Fifth,the art of characterization of concubines.Analyzing the way of character description,the use of contrasting and the effect of the character of concubines playing a role in plots and structure is to realize writer`s superb writing skills. |
