Donald Barthelme(1931.4.7--1989.7.23),an American postmodernist novelist, praised by American academic journals, literary journals and journalism magazines as one of the most imitated and influential stylists today. The contemporary writer Raymond Crawford said that "the world is only one Barthelme",that Barthelme and Hemingway,Faulkner,Updike and other great writers, according to their own rules to construct a " Completely different world ".The general critic believes that Barthelme’s work is obscure, but his novel has a close connection with life,he created a strange brush with a surface absurd, but in fact unlimited Real world of literature.Based on the theory of narratology and background of the sixties and seventies, explains the textual features of Barthelme ’s short stories and analyze the hidden world. The first part introduces the basic situation of Barthelme, the research status of his novels and the research methods of this paper, and introduces the two characteristics of Mobius: cycle and extension. The second part analyzes the circulatory characteristics in Barthelme’s novels.Barthelme sets the path of the roundabout in the novel,so that the beginning and end of the novel form a cycle, deconstruct the existence and action of man’s meaning;he uses the synchronic narrative.Blurring the timeline of the traditional novel,so that the novel at a glance;he deliberately set multiple narrators in the works, the performance of multiple themes, from the personal fate of the sublimation to the world of doubt and reflection. In this "Mobius band" structure, the reader can get a glimpse of multicultural projection. The third part analyzes the spatial expansibility of its novels.Barthelme’s use of intertextual writing makes the reader aware of the complex connotations of the text, turning them from a separate text to a broader horizon.
