On Fictional Translation From The Perspective Of Literal Stylistic

Style is an important concept in literature and the main research subject of literary stylistics.It is required to reflect the aesthetic demands of the author from the style of the novel when the literary stylistics are combined with fictional translation.In the process of translation,however,some translators just reproduce the information of the original text by intuition and ignore the style and features of the fiction.When translating literary works,translators could follow the ideas of Leech,Short and Shen Dan,find the artistic principle behind the original language,and then use the approaches of literary stylistics to reconstruct the aesthetic function of the language and focus on the meaning of the form itself.In this way,the loss of stylistic effect in translation caused by "false equivalent" can be avoided.Arctic Chill is an outstanding criminal mystery fiction by Iceland writer Arnaldur Indridason.It is ingenious and fascinating.By depicting a detective Erlendur with rich compassion,Arctic Chill allows the readers know the investigation in the whirling events,feel the real human emotion,and experience the daily life and human well-being of Iceland people.Based on Leech,Short and Shen Dan's literary stylistics theories,this translation report analyzes the specific translation cases of the fiction Arctic Chill(chapter 9-15)from three aspects:lexis,figures of speech and point of view.By evaluating and analyzing the above stylistic features in Arctic Chill,this report explains the ways used in the translation.It is believed the reporter tried his best to retain the original form and artistic effects and conveys the stylistic style of the original text to the greatest extent,thus the significance of literary stylistics in the practice of fictional translation is proved.
