Research Of Xusong And Xinjiang Fu

During the reign of Emperor Jiajing and Emperor Dao Guang in Qing dynasty,the territory of Qing government was extremely vast.Ili is in the northwest of Qing dynasty.Because the society just tended to be stable,there were no enough book records to look up.On the basis of previous studies,Xu Song wrote Ili Zongtong Shilue which aslo called Xinjiang Shilue by his rich textual research knowledge and witnesses of empirical knowledge of Xinjiang.This book faithfully recorded Xinjiang's history,geography,society,economics,culture and other aspects,which is essential for the Qing government's policy to Xinjiang,helped people to know the history of northwest of China.With his subtle idea and vigorous pen,Xu Song also wrote a encyclopedic Fu named Xinjiang Fu which was very popular and praised by people at his time.Confined by Xinjiang Shilue's genre and Xinjiang Fu's length,Xu Song wrote another book named Xiyu Shuidao Ji to record more specific information about Xinjiang in Shuijing's style.Xu Song and his books play a significant role in the history and geography of northwest of China in the time of emperor Jiajing and emperor Dao Guang in Qing dynasty.Xu Song had a rough life which could be divided three parts if we use his banish to Ili and going back to Beijing as symbol,His experience in Ili had a profound effect on the development of his study conception and literature view.He worked in Quantangwen Academy and Wenyin Academy before his banish to Ili.His writings is good at textual criticism.When he was banished to Ili,he used his learned knowledge of textual criticism and actual survey method and finally became a key figure in the transition from Qian-Jia Learning of Simplicity to Dao-Xian Practical Thought.The studies of Xu Song's works is growing recently,however those research mostly focus on one of his works,the connection and infiltration impact of these three books haven't yet drawn the attention of the the academic community.As his only existing large work,Xinjiang Fu has an extraordinary meaning.The creaion motivation of Xinjiang Shilue and Xinjiang Fu and their materials are similar and influenced each other.Xinjiang Fu and Xiyu Shuidao Ji took on each other,their contents are very similar.Therefore we hold the opinion that Xinjiang Fu has close relations with other two books.
