Writing Process Of Orlando And Its Thinking

Virginia Woolf was a famous British female writer in the early twentieth century,and was also an important leader of modern feminist literary criticism.She spent her whole life on the study of women's issues.In her works she created many vivid female characters.Orlando is Woolf's first work as a biography,and also is a practice of female writing which made androgyny as the main line of the creative practice.This thesis tries to analyze Orlando's writing courses and its deep thinking over the rationalization of social contact of the two sexes under the Woolf's androgyny theory and Habermas' s theory of communicative action.There are six parts in the thesis.The first part introduces the significance,background,domestic and foreign research situation,techniques and the innovation points of the research.The second part describes Orlando early writing as a teenager.The third part analyzes the adult Orlando's writing.With the frustration of love and career,Orlando lived in a secluded manor which was his perfect writing space.Green's personal visiting made Orlando comprehend the meaning of his writing and made Orlando become mature gradually on the road of writing as well.The fourth part analyzes female Orlando's writing after sex reversal.Female Orlando envisaged the differences between the two sexes.In the perspective of female,she deeply realized the social construction of women.She wandered freely between the two sexes by changing the clothes.With the bisexual experiences and her writing course,Orlando integrated the difference of two sexes gradually and finally had the androgynous brain.The fifth part analyzes the successful essential of Orlando as a famous woman writer: security of the economic and the writing space;the androgyny brain.Orlando's marriage was her compromise to the spirit of the time and her compromise was the important step for her realization of androgyny.The sixth part discusses the deep thinking about Orlando's writing course who had the androgyny brain.The significance of androgyny is not only to writing course and the literary creation,but also has the far-reaching influence on the harmony of the two sexes and the harmonious development of the society.With the androgyny and the Habermas' s theory of communicative action,the thesis tries to analyze their significance to the equality of the two sexes and the rational contact pattern,even to the construction of harmonious society.
