Maxine Hong Kingston is the first Chinese American female writer who gets common consent and broad recognition,and her first literary work The Woman Warrior receives broad attention since its publication in 1976.Yet researches with this novel mainly focus on feminism,female bildungsroman,racial discrimination,writing features and its cultural factors.Few people do researches in the prospect of psychoanalysis.Based on Freud's psychoanalysis theories this thesis parses The Woman Warrior's implications and searches into heroines' inward worlds.Firstly this thesis introduces Kingston and her novel The Woman Warrior,also researches home and abroad;then it analyzes “my” unconsciousness and consciousness with feminism and Chinese cultures and parses id,ego and superego in The Woman Warrior by analyzing their representatives namely No Name Woman,realistic Brave Orchid and selfless Fa Mu Lan;afterwards this thesis comprehensively analyses heroines' life instinct and death instinct in The Woman Warrior;finally the paper draws a conclusion with foregoing three chapters' analysis and thereby parses heroines' psychological characteristics.With these psychological analysis readers will know more clearly about characters' mental traits in The Woman Warrior,and master their inner psychological motives in different environments,which functions realistically for interpreting the female psychology.
