The living environment of the human being is always evolving and continuously emerging with unprecedented stimulus.Corresponding to this fact, learning and understanding regularities in the environment is important and necessary. The researchers believed that mastering these regularities was an unconscious processing of our cognitive system, which was known as statistical learning(SL).Previous research has already revealed that the individuals can start statistical learning based on abstract categorical information, and statistical structural representation can transfer between space and time or between vision and hearing. However, earlier researchers tended to focus on the transfer based on a singular statistical learning regularity, and they did not deeply understand the transfer concerning with complicated semantic information.Due to that, this present study hoped to testify the cross-channel flexibility of visual and auditory statistical learning and explore the role of semantic information on the transfer. This present study included four experiments. The first one employed the classical statistical learning paradigm to explore the transfer of visual statistical learning deeply. The second one adopted the picture-word semantic interfering paradigm to examine the role of semantic information on the transfer of visual statistical learning. The third one studied the transfer of auditory statistical learning further. The fourth one used semantic interfering materials to investigate the role of semantic information on the transfer of auditory statistical learning. The results of the present study was given as follows:1)The statistical structural representation based on visual statistical learning was able to develop into the statistical structural representation based on the semantic and auditory characteristics;2)The semantic interference impaired the time accuracy of visual statistical structural representation and influenced the transfer from visual statistical learning to the semantic and auditory information statistical learning;3)The statistical structural representation based on auditory statistical learning was able to develop into the statistical structural representation based on the semantic and visual characteristics;4)The semantic interference impaired the time accuracy of auditory statistical structural representation, and influenced the transfer from auditory statistical learning to the semantic and visual information statistical learning. It was concluded that the visual and auditory statistical learning were flexibility, and the cross-channel transfer of statistical learning was based on semantic information.
