Teaching compound word has always been the difficulty and focus of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Haishi(??)is one of the difficulties.Former scholars have studied the semantics,syntax and discourse of haishi(??)in detail,but most of them cannot be used directly in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In addition,haishi(??)has a lot of pragmatic meaning given by the context,which is also one of the difficulties for foreign students.The previous research has been less involved in this area,and there have not been too many guiding suggestions on teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Therefore,it is still necessary to thoroughly study the error of haishi(??)from the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This thesis based on the corpus and questionnaire statistics,investigates the acquisition sequence of the haishi(??)different meaning by foreign students,as well as the acquisition of the haishi(??)in pragmatic at the perspective of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and put forward to giving corresponding teaching strategies.This thesis consists of five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction to this thesis,reviewing and sorting out the previous research.The second chapter investigates haishi(??)from semantics,syntax and pragmatics.In semantic part,the common meaning for haishi(??)is continuum and choice.haishi(??)often appears in interrogative sentence,but it can be used in declarative sentence when match ba(?)and de hao(??).Besides,pragmatic functions of haishi(??)include common choice functions,anti expectations and enhancement of mood.On the basis of the previous research,the third chapter combines the analysis of HSK dynamic composition corpus and follow-up questionnaire and interview,found errors are mainly concentrated in the misuse of huozhe(??)and hai(?),and miss haishi(??)in such sentence pattern.Also,students easy to make mistakes in the aspects of persuasion,anti expectation and enhancement of mood function.Finally,we analyze the main causes of errors during foreign students' acquisition of ‘haishi',including the mother tongue influence limitation,Chinese level and target language negative transfer,cognitive strategies generalization and misleading,and Chinese language teaching and relevant teaching materials,moreover,putting forward some corresponding teaching materials and teaching recommendations.The fifth chapter is a conclusion,mainly describes the research results,the existing problems and shortcomings.
