The main object of this study is the national orchestral music suite "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions"."Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions" was derived from music in the 1987 TV series "Dream of The Red Mansions".The conductor and composer Mr.Zhang lei selected the theme music and some background music,and rearranged the large national orchestral music.The 2011 premiere was performed in the Central National Concert Hall.In the release of TV "Dream of The Red Mansions" in 1987,"Grand View Garden",described by Mr.Cao Xueqin,was presented to the world vividly.The success of "Dream of The Red Mansions" is inseparable from the dedication and hard work of every production team member? Mr.Wang Liping deserves much of the credit among all of them.Mr.Wang Liping created the theme music,and tailored extremely personal background interlude for the characters of "Dream of The Red Mansions".This made the original "Dream" characters in the TV production to become more vivid,solid shown? Undoubtedly,music for "Dream of The Red Mansions" was a great success? And after more than 30 years,the reason why the national orchestral music suite "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions" rearranged by Mr.Zhang Lie can once again attract the attention and recognition from the world,is not only because of the retained art precipitation,but also because of the artistic innovation after rearrangement.This study for the suite "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions” will be based on collection of its performance and ove materials,and reference of former study for “Dream of The Red Mansion” as well as its songs and background.It will target at "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions",and start with the traditional composing technique theory,including the perspective of the creative thinking,and techniques to analyze its characteristics,summarize the commonness as well as search feature? The study also focuses on exploring the reasons for the great success of this production,in order to provide some references and valuable inputs for the future analysis of national style productionThis paper is prepared to be divided into four parts.In the first part of the introduction chapter,the author will focus on selected topic origin,selected topic significance,the present research status of this topic,and the research methods and research value for this thesis,etc.In order to have a more comprehensive understanding for the suite "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions",the production creator of this suite,Mr.Zhang Lie will be briefly introduced,and the origin as well as the performance situation of the suite will be summarized.The third part is the focused area in the study,the author will provide a thorough and overall analysis based on ove material collection of "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions" performed by National Music Group of Shanxi Province Song and Dance Theatre.The building of the subject matter,melody development,melody structure mode and tonality,acoustic applications,and instruments technique aspects will be discussed respectively,in order to demonstrate the characteristics of the composer.The last part is to explore the creative value of "Dream Pursuit of The Red Mansions",and the reference meaning of national style music creation.
