The rapid development of network technology has promoted the arrival of the paperless era, the law of the market determines that the industry needs to adapt to the time. Insurance market is also gradually transforming from the traditional paper policy era to the network of e-commerce insurance. To keep up with the trend and accelerate the development of electronic insurance market, each insurance company makes much effort to establish etworks of insurance sales platform, and vigorously develop the insurance network sales business, and open up the electronic insurance market. However, in the transition from the traditional paper policy to electronic policy, there are still some problems for consumers,who want to simplify the insurance process and enjoy the convenience, but still cannot fully trust the insurance of the Internet. Thus, in the development of the insurance industry, the self-help insurance card, as a process derivative product, begins to come into existence.As a new type of insurance products in a transition period, the design of self-help insurance card meets the insurance companies'demands of cost saving and facilitate selling; purchasing from the familiar insurance agent or salesman can also resolve the problems of trusting problem. Self-help insurance cards have a broad market demand and a certain scale of stable consumers. Once launched by the insurance company, they quickly gained market recognition, soon occupied an important share in the insurance market. But in practice, because of the absence of qualitative and effective restraint from the current legal and regulatory status, the legal practice involving the self-help insurance card appears controversial. In view of this, it has practical significance to study the legal problems existing in the self-help insurance card business.In this paper, the business model and legal issues of self-help insurance card products will be studied from the following four aspects. The first part will discuss' the legal nature of self-help insurance card business process", in this part, the current research of "contract theory" and "different contract" will be briefly introduced and discussed. The appointment of "precontract and the real contract" has more theoretical basis and practical significance. The second part will be focusing on "the formulation and efficacy of insurance contract in the self-help card business", analyzing the establishment of the insurance contract, entry into force and the beginning of the period of insurance liability. The third part of the insurer "the specific explanation obligation of self insurance card business" describes the necessity, the explanation standard, the legal consequences and specific to the performance of self insurance card. The fourth part of "the insurance liability in insurance card business" elaborated the responsibility of the insurance in different cases, through the case analysis.
