Since April 2014,the Ministry of Public Security has carried out the special training activities for the national public security organs how to use police special weapons and equipment by the laws.Since then,frontline police who work in Beijing,Shanghai,Zhengzhou and other cities have started to be armed to patrol the streets.In the same year,"5 · 22 serious violent terrorist attacks" happened in Xinjiang,so that police armed patrol has been the norm and the security work upgrades across the country in order to combat a variety of serious violent crimes and maintain the social stability and order.So far,the standardization of the use of police firearms has become a topic of public concern.Based on the analysis of the present situation of legislation in our country,this paper points out three problems.First there is a lag in the legislation of the use of firearms in the police and the connection between the upper and lower laws.Second the parity rule is not closed and the principle of use of firearms in legislation is single.Third the use of firearms is imperfect.Due to the above problems,the author present in this paper that we should modify the current laws and regulations,enhance the effectiveness of setting police with firearms right norms;She also thinks that we should learn experience from other foreign countries and areas and we should put the life threatening principle into the laws,so as to make up for the deficiency in Regulations of the People's Republic of China's Police Use of Police Equipment and Weapons.Finally,we should make a systematic,clear and perfect the legal procedures of police use firearms norms.In this way we can guide police to use of firearms legally and legitimately.
