Study On The Public Diplomacy Of China To ASEAN Countries From The Perspective Of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road

After the end of the cold war,public diplomacy,as a new way of diplomacy,has attracted wide attention from all over the world.And it has become an important complement of traditional diplomacy.Because of its weak political advantages,public diplomacy plays an important role in increasing the visibility,reputation and identity of a country,and becomes a new stage for the country to reshape the image of the country and safeguard the interests of the state.As an increasingly prominent political force in East Asia,ASEAN countries have been regarded as an important geopolitical strategic zone,and C hina's public diplomacy practice towards ASEAN countries has never stopped,which achieved remarkable results in cultural exchanges,educational language exchange and media exchanges.After the strategy of “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”,in order to speed up the hearts and minds with ASEAN countries,China attaches more importance to public diplomacy activities in ASEAN countries,to establish a solid social foundation in Southeast Asia.However,due to the international community's concern about China's rise,the false report of the western media on the strategy of “the 21 st Century Maritime Silk Road” and the strategic propaganda,the ASEAN countries lack understanding of the objectives and ideas of China's silk road,is not conducive to the establishment of friendly cooperation spirit and the social foundation of silk road.Faced with the new situation,C hina needs to re establish the strategic objectives and main tasks of public diplomacy to ASEAN countries,and create new opportunities for the feelings of the ASEAN people.Based on the importance of the Southeast Asian re gion in C hina's geopolitical strategy,this paper analyzes the future choice of C hina's public diplomacy in the background of the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” strategy,and establishes a strong social foundation in the form of public diplomacy in Sout heast Asia.Making public diplomacy becomes the driving force for the smooth implementation of the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” strategy.The text is divided into three parts.The first part summarizes the basic content of China's public diplomacy to ASEAN countries at the present stage,the achievements and shortcomings in this process.The second part discusses the goal of China's public diplomacy towards ASEAN countries under the background of construction the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”,which is the spirit of inheriting Silk Road,consolidating the basis of public opinion and eliminating the misunderstanding of the community.The exchanges of cultural and educational,political parties and parliamentary exchanges,the communication of civil power become next direction of China?s public diplomacy.The last part puts forward a strategic countermeasure on how to carry out public diplomacy in ASEAN countries under the background of the"21st Century Maritime Silk Road” with the main body,object,means and content of China's public diplomacy.
