Research On The Foundation Of Governing Legitimacy Of The Communist Party Of China From The Perspective Of Governing Achievements

In political life, governing legitimacy plays an important role in regulating and running political system. When the party is in power of formulating and carrying out development policies, it is necessary for it to rely on the governing legitimacy to obtain the supports from populace to reduce the innovation resistance. On the other hand,governing performance is conducive to consolidating the foundation of governing legitimacy. Acting as a ruling party for more than sixty years, the legitimacy foundation of the Communist Party of China has been changed, especially from the reform and opening policies begun, the construction of governing legitimacy is widely praised by the public for its remarkable governing achievements. However, the conflicts and challenges couldn't be avoided, either. In addition, as our country is in the period of social transition, various contradictions and problems from social, political, ideological and other aspects come out in an unending flow. All of these couldn't be avoided and have become the test that when the Communist Party of China consolidates the foundation of governing legitimacy. Therefore, it is necessary to make a further research on the foundation of governing legitimacy of the Communist Party of China from whatever theory or practices.Making an analysis about the concepts which is relevant with governing achievements and governing legitimacy is the first step in this thesis. After clarifying the definition of governing achievements and legitimacy, we further analyzed the specific connotation of the Communist Party of China's governing achievements, which is on the background of the construction of socialist modernization with Chinese characteristics. Then, through the research of the relationship between governing achievements and foundation of governing legitimacy, we found that, when facing the objective of maintaining the stability of governing, they are consistent with each other.Also, it's the research starting point of this thesis.Secondly, we made the study from the perspective of governing achievements,which is based on the construction status of the foundation of governing legitimacy. In the respect of achievements, the principles and practices of governing which the Communist Party of China have made offered significant supports for the development of governing legitimacy. In the respect of challenges, combining with the new situationsof our economy and society, we pointed out the stress that the governing legitimacy construction of the Communist Party of China may face with at the present stage.In the last part, following the analysis about challenges, the thesis discussed the counter-measures and suggestions from five aspects of the party construction, the development of economy,the development of politics,the construction of ideology and the governing environment, which consolidated the foundation of governing legitimacy.Through keeping the core status of the party's leadership, enlarging the social basis,strengthening political identification and theoretical confidence, and optimizing the governing environment. It is effectively helpful to consolidate the foundation of governing legitimacy and safeguard the long-term governing status of the Communist Party of China.
