Water,Immigration And Politics: Miyun Reservoir Research(1958—1965)

Severe flooding and drought made the people of Miyun county and nearby in hot water.So,our country decided to build Miyun reservoir in order to change the damage for water conservancy.Miyun reservoir began to construct in September 1958,water conservancy “great leap forward” movement and movement to establish people's communes at that time promoted and safeguarded the reservoir dam building objectively.After two years of time,in September 1960,the reservoir eventually completed smoothly,but the solution of the immigration continued until June 1965.Reservoir was built in beijing-tianjin-hebei two hundred thousand migrant workers and the people from all walks of life work,without them,the reservoir could not be successfully completed within short time.There were tens of thousands of immigrants made a significant contribution for the construction of the reservoir and sacrifice,and soon in immigration,produced many problems.After reservoir was built in concentrated,country began to solve the problem of immigration,making the production of immigrants life back on track soon.Before the reservoir construction and construction process,politics had a unique role.The reservoir was built under the special political situation;In the process of construction,also cannot leave the political influence on reservoir construction.It can be said that politics runs through the whole process of construction of the reservoir,having a very big influence on reservoir construction.The completion of the reservoir has a huge social benefit and economic benefit,especially to the capital,industrial and agricultural,resident daily life in the use of water is critical,and still plays a significant role up to now.
