A Multidimensional Analysis Of The Main Contradiction In Chinese Society At Present

With the great progress of science and technology and the rapid development of social productive forces in China,people’s material and cultural life has been continuously enriched.In some areas of production,there even has been a product backlog,and overcapacity phenomenon.Accordingly,some scholars questioned the main contradictions of our society,and argued that the Communist Party’s discussion on the main contradictions of our society lacked criticism,explanatory power and practicality.In this context,based on the connotation of the main social contradiction,taking the Marxist theories of need and production as the research paradigm,this article,from the aspects of theory,reality and practice,tries to make a detailed and comprehensive analysis on the main contradictions of our society in order to clarify the problem,to explain the theory and to promote practice through the dialogue between theory and reality.In this paper,according to the internal tension between need and production,we will explore and analyze the main contradictions from the following four dimensions.The first one is from the basic connotation of the contradictions of our society: The main contradiction of society is macro contradictions while social class contradiction,contradiction between the rich and the poor,doctor-patient contradiction,etc are micro contradiction.In terms of the connotation of contradiction,it is the unity of opposites of two deciding and dominating aspects(elements)in the certain stage of social development.“The contradiction between the growing material and cultural needs of the people and the backward social production” is essentially the contradiction between the comprehensive needs of the people and the three-dimensional production of society.The comprehensive need is the unity of material needs,spiritual needs,social relations needs,self-realization and development needs.The three-dimensional production is the unity of material production,spiritual production,social relations and human production,which are based on production,distribution,exchange,consumption.These two play leading roles in our social development and progress.Therefore,from the theoretical dimension,China’s main social contradiction still is not changed;the second one is that this contradiction is not changed from reality dimension,too.Firstly,compared with the ideal needs of the people,the relatively backward quality,efficiency and structure of production can not meet the needs of the masses for the good quality of life.Secondly,there are still some factors that prevent people from developing and achieving themselves in distribution,exchange,circulation and consumption aspects.Finally,the uneven production of society led to the diversification needs of the people can’t be effectively satisfied;so from the perspective of reality,China’s main social contradiction is still unchanged,which refers to the essence of our social contradiction is unchanged.That is to say,the contradiction between the growing material and cultural needs of the people and the backward social production is the main contradiction of our society.The third one is from the new features of the main contradictions in our society at present.Although the main contradiction of our society has not changed at current stage,the two main aspects of our country’s main contradictions and their relationship have changed profoundly.In the field of social production,we used to focus on material production,but now we pay much more attention to the development of comprehensive and balanced production of material production,material production,spiritual production,production relations production and human production.As to the relationship between these two,we change from concerning about the social production to more highlighting the needs of the people.In terms of people’s needs,our government begins to changed their attention from survival needs to the needs of people’s enjoy and development;the fourth is to deal with the current main contradictions by practical ways: first,improving the quality and efficiency of production and strengthening the reform of the production structure to consolidate the material basis to meet people’s needs.Second,promoting the social distribution lean to the middle and low-income people,maintaining social justice and strengthen the relationship between social interests and optimizing peasant’s livelihood system to straighten out the relationship of social interests;last,expanding the social and cultural production,promoting the transformation of social relations production and deepening the educational reform to create conditions for achieving people’s comprehensive and free development.
