Adjudicating cases by Confucian classics played a vital role in Chinese legal history for thousands of years.It carried on the ritual and punishment system of Xia,Shang and Zhou dynasty and established in Sui and Tang dynasty the custom of introducing Confucianism into laws,thus the carrier of Confucian classics to integrate secular laws and decrees and turning point in the development of legal culture and system in ancient China.It was exactly after that turning point that Chinese legal system formed its stable mode and unique style.In view of this,researches on adjudicating cases by Confucian classics are an inevitable threshold for exploring Chinese legal system and also an unavoidable problem for building it.In this paper,the author,based on the cases adjudicated by Confucian classics in Book of the Later Han,has through complicated statistics and unconventional analysis concluded that not only does adjudicating by Confucian classics contribute a lot to refining the legal system,checking the imperial power and stabilizing social structure in Chinese history,but also it can offer certain valuable references for the establishment of case guidance system and socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics for today's China.In addition to the introduction,this article mainly includes the summary of adjudicating cases by Confucian classics of the versions of Book of the Later Han,the research of adjudicating cases by Confucian classics of Book of the Later Han,the reason of adjudicating cases by Confucian classics of Book of the Later Han,the meaning of adjudicating cases by Confucian classics of Book of the Later Han.The first part:the summary of adjudicating cases by Confucian classics of the versions of Book of the Later Han.This part is not only introduce the book but the background of these cases and intends to limit the scope for the research below.For example,what version of the Book of the Later Hanshould be researched?Whether or not to research the exegesis?
