The sustainability of our market economy cannot do without the support of the social security system.With the development of social economy,social security is constantly enriched and improved.The existence of the urban-rural dualistic structure leads to the dualistic character of Social Security System.This dualistic character of urban and rural social security system is contrary with common prosperity and sharing the results of the reform.Our government should narrow the gap between urban and rural to reflect the superiority of the social security.This paper takes the research object of Xi county Shanxi Province`s urban and rural social security mechanism.By the end of 2015,the social security of Xi county has made some achievements.Such as the coverage of old-age insurance and medical insurance,subsistence allowances.But social security is in low level.There exist a lot of problems,such as the rural social security coverage is not wide enough.The financial investment is too little to bear the costs of social security responsibility.And the construction of social security system is not perfect,while work efficiency is not high.The difference of urban and rural social security level is obvious.Co-ordination of the urban and rural social security system is helpful for promoting the county's economic growth and creating a fair atmosphere.This paper mainly talks about urban and rural social security of Xi county Shanxi Province.It is an important exploration of balancing urban and rural social security system.Analysing specific project data of urban and rural social security,discussing restricting factors and countermeasures of co-ordinating urban and rural social security of Xi county.
