Objective:To propose scientific and effective school-based preventive interventions on the issue of the child sexual abuse(CSA),surveys had been conducted among rural teachers about the cognition on CSA and teaching skills related to CSA prevention.Methods:451 teachers were recruited by cluster sampling from 14 schools(2kindergartens,4 primary schools,4 junior senior high schools and 4 senior high schools)which were randomized selected from HC and YX in Hubei Province.Self-made questionnaire“Teachers'Questionnaire on Preventing Child Sexual Abuse”was used to investigate the basic situation of teachers, the cognition of CSA on teacher and the teaching and prevention knowledge of CSA.Data were established by Epidata 3.1 and analyzed by using descriptive analysis,?~2 test,Logistic regression analysis with SPSS22.0statistics software.Results:1.Teachers'cognition on CSA:Teachers'average score of cognition on CSA was 6.84±2.29.The item“Those who had sexually abused on a child would most likely repeat infringements“was the highest right-answered question with the rate of 86.5%.Conversely,the item“Those who had sexually abused on children were absolutely males”was the lowest right-answered question with the rate of 28.4%.Two items had the statistically significant differences among the male and female teachers, which were“Women were also likely to commit sexual abuse on children”(?~2=10.833,P=0.001)and“Children reported sexual abuse should be valued”(?~2=4.065,P=0.044),respectively.2.Teachers'cognition of the concept of CSA and influencing factors:In this study, the definition of CSA contains seven items and the average score of teachers'cognition is5.17(5.17±2.06).The item“Touching the private parts of children's bodies”belongs to CSA with the highest degree of correct recognition(87.9%).The item“Talking gossip”belongs to CSA with the lowest degree of correct recognition(57.6%).And all the items have no statistical significance between men and women.Teachers'qualifications(?~2=9.028,P=0.029)is associated with teachers'cognition of the concept of CSA.3.Teachers'attitudes toward sex education in schools:88.0%(n=397)of teachers approve sex education in schools.Teachers'general understanding of CSA(?~2=6.397,P=0.011),working place(?~2=10.083,P=0.018)and whether the teacher had attened to the training course or not(?~2=79.280,P=0.000)are associated with teachers'attitude of sexual education.4.Teachers taught students about CSA knowledge and influencing factors:In this study, teacher education activities contains eight items, and the average score of 4.97(4.97±2.99).The item“Even the most familiar adults need the consent of their parents to go with him as well”with the highest percentage of teaching rate is 82.0%.“Showed students books or videos about CSA prevention“the lowest proportion of teaching rate is47.9%.Education(?~2=14.126,P=0.015),working years(?~2=9.259,P=0.026),working place(?~2=38.776,P=0.000),teachers'general understanding of CSA(?~2=6.397,P=0.011)and whether the teacher had attened to the training course or not(?~2=79.280,P=0.000)are related to teachers'teaching of sexual and prevention knowledge of CSA.5.Teachers'suggestions on prevention of CSA:children aged 6-14 are the best education time;the most suitable way is for brochures and manual;parents are the most suitable educator, and national legislation need to increase penalties for criminals. Conclusions:In general, teachers'cognition of CSA was still lacking, and the concept of CSA was not enough understood.Although a large proportion of teachers believe that sex education for children is an important measure to prevent children from CSA,but they were less likely to teach students prevention knowledge of CSA.To improve the teachers'awareness of CSA,systematic and specific training programs are imperative.Meanwhile, composing textbooks and setting up relevant courses will promote teachers'willing to deliver the CSA knowledge to students, which can be an effect approach to the prevention of CSA as well.
