Shortly after the September 11 attacks in 2001,the United States began its military operations in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban regime and ended the Taliban regime's rule in Afghanistan for more than a decade. In March of the following year, the United States launched military operations against Iraq on the grounds of possessing weapons of mass destruction and the Saddam regime's support for terrorism, and successfully overthrew the Saddam regime. However, the incident has passed for more than a decade. In the vast Islamic countries of Central and Western Asia, the threat of terrorism has not been reduced or eliminated. The situation in the region has also become increasingly volatile. The Saddam regime has weapons of mass destruction and Evidence to support terrorism has not been found so far. Before and after the “war on terror” was carried out, many American media who had always been self-possessed by the staunch defenders of journalistic professionalism failed to maintain a rational and objective reporting posture under the US government's war public relations.Instead, they fell into a patriotic mood.Among the hustle and bustle. The caliber of the mainstream media is highly consistent with the official rhetoric. While the media clamored for the “war on terror”,it also became part of the war machine.Under the dual role of the government and the media, people have lost the ability to explore the social roots of terrorism.Understanding of terrorism has remained at an extremely shallow level.People are completely confused by the anti-terrorism images created by the media and the government.Only seeing the cruelty and violence of terrorists, the innocence and misery of victims, and how just and reasonable the US-led "war on terror" are,we cannot see the contradiction between human existence and development behind terrorism.
