| As one of the important English teaching modes in China, Dialogue Teaching(DT) has already been recognized by numerous professional experts and front-line teachers because of the concepts like equality and reciprocality between teachers and students, bidirectional listening, corporation, creation and generation. This study is to demonstrate the application and supporting role of DT in improving Ss’ English communicative competence.This study observes five English classrooms of Chongqing Tian Jiabing Middle School from the angle of current situation survey, and separately dissects the current situation of DT of the five classes. Then, it goes on talking about the relevancy between DT and Ss’ English communicative competence. Based on previous analysis, this study discusses positive functions of DT in improving Ss’ English communicative competence from 3 aspects: pragmatic competence, learning motivation and conversational competence. In the end, this study explores some specific implementing strategies.This study argues that strategies of creating dialogue scenes, stimulating dialogue motivation, maintaining dialogue implementation and innovating dialogue meaning can improve Ss’ English communicative competence to some extent and provide some conductive advice for first-line teachers. |
