| The polarization in the physical achievements of high school students is a common phenomenon. Based on all previous physical achievements of high school students, we made a research by comparing this phenomenon in a school of Yantai with that in another school of Jinan. The physical achievements indicate the ability of solving physical problems of high school students. And then, this paper investigated the main factors on solving physical problems in high school students by using questionnaires.From the previous investigation, we found the following views. The first was that the excessive polarization existed in physical achievements of certain high school students. The second was that there were an increasing period, a steady period and a serious period in the process of polarization. The third was that polarization was obvious in the class whose physical knowledge was weak. The fourth was that the early days of Senior One and Senior Two were turning point in the process of polarization.The points, which we can get from the questionnaires those reflect the factors to solving physical problems in high school students, are as follows. The first is that some students can solve physical problems very well, they have good abilities such as experimental observation, experimental enthusiasm, imagination and abstraction. The second is that using mathematics to solve physical problems remains a large obstacle to the students whose physical basis is weak. The third is that the former cognitive concepts, the experiences and the methods to physical problems are the main factors to high school students in physical learning. The fourth is that students have moderate interests in physics, but the learning motives are different in the students with different physical performance. The students who can get secondary and higher performance hope to pass the college entrance examination, while the others learn just for their parents. The last but not least is that such teachers are popular with students, their teaching methods are flexible, they link theory with practice, their spoken languages are easy to understand, they respect for the students and their management is democratic.We present a series of effective and feasible teaching strategies for different stages. The first one is organizing supporting groups in the class. The second one is cultivating good learning methods for the students, such as oral homework, innovative learning proposal including the tasks before and after class. The third one is optimizing the teachers’ teaching methods, such as paying attention on the scientific roaming and STS after class, laying stress on individual evaluation in the process of teaching. The fourth one is to help students identify gaps and make up. |
