1950s' Higher Education Reform

In the early days after the foundation of the PRC, China comprehensively learned the Soviet education mode, took over and retrofitted private universities, all colleges and universities were brought into the national management system. In addition, with the help of the Soviet Union experts, the central government pointed several administrative region by departments of institutions of higher learning adjustment, professional set up on the basis of education reform, and also to carry out the ideological reform movement in stages. The achievements of these series of education reform measures as well as exposed some problems. In the first half of the 20 th century, Jiangxi higher education system was deeply effected by democracy, republican ideas, war and political unrest, the road of its development was zigzag and long. In the Anti-Japanese War period, Jiangxi higher education got its preliminary development. Under the rule of the PRC, Jiangxi local government and related education department, took over colleges and universities originally ruled by Kuomintang, and carried on teaching adjustment, established the education system met with the needs of modern education system. Later on, Jiangxi obeyed national departments' layout, adjust many teaching resources to Wuhan and other places, has made a contribution to the development of national higher education, but had great influence on the development of higher education in Jiangxi province. Moreover, Jiangxi colleges and universities reformed in other fields. They carried out the ideological reform movement, it had great influence on the masses of teachers and students. According to the relevant provisions of the Middle-South region, Jiangxi colleges and universities reconfigured the teaching resources. Jiangxi Normal College's system is modeled on the Soviet model and formed its own characteristics. For these reasons, this research treat Jiangxi province as the center, and analyzes the higher education system at the beginning of the PRC so as to find out the historical law of change.
