A Study On The Problems And Solutions Of Critical Thinking Cultivation In English Reading And Writing Teaching Of Senior High School

Critical thinking, a vital part of thinking skills, is a basis for creativity, which makes great effects on students' studies and life. In China, students' critical thinking is ignored, for the influence of traditional education. The cultivation of critical thinking is an important task for English teaching, especially for English reading and writing. However, at present, there are still many problems about the cultivation of critical thinking in English reading and writing. Therefore, it's necessary and important to develop students' critical thinking skills in classroom teaching.On the basis of critical thinking skills theory, interactive reading model and process approach, the paper aims at analyzing the problems and reasons of the cultivation of critical thinking in senior high school English reading and writing teaching, in order to find a proper way to develop students' critical thinking skills and promote students' reading and writing standards.By using the methods of questionnaires, observation and interview, the author analyzes the date and finds the results that most students are lack of the awareness of critical thinking.Students are not good at thinking in study, especially using critical thinking skills for reading and writing and they have the cognitive deviation of English reading and writing. In the aspect of teachers, most teachers do not understand what is critical thinking and how to cultivate students' critical thinking skills in English reading and writing teaching. On the basis of the research findings, the author suggests that teachers and students should take some measures to create a good environment for the cultivation of critical thinking. It's also important to take the cultivation of critical thinking into English reading and writing teaching.
