An Analysis Of The Influence Of Modern Social Network On Happiness

With the rapid development of China's economy and the rich of the material resources,the pursuit of happiness for the people is no longer satisfied with the material wealth,more is the pursuit of spiritual enrichment and self-development needs to meet.With the development of China's social transformation,the development of information technology has led to great changes in various fields.The nature of social capital of Chinese residents has also changed.The traditional social networks based on blood and geography are gradually transit to the modern social network which is connected loosely by the individual,compared to "human resources",people more and more understand the importance of "information resources".Based on the theory of "strong and weak relationship",this paper divides social capital into modern social network and traditional social network from the perspective of social network,make an empirical study of the two different social network types' influence on the subjective happiness of Chinese residents and the difference between the different social groups and the mechanism of the social network 's influence on the happiness by using STATA14.0 software based on 2012 China Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS)data,and then get the preliminary conclusion.It is found that in present China,the modern social network has a significant positive impact on the residents 'sense of happiness and has become an important aspect of the social capital.However,the traditional social network still plays a major role in influencing the residents' subjective happiness.This is closely related to China's national conditions since ancient times.In the future,with the further development of market economy,we believe the role of traditional social networks will gradually weaken until the modern social network replaces the dominant position.At the same time,it is found that the influence of modern social network on the happiness of Chinese residents is different among different groups: Compared with low-income groups and high-income groups,the modern social network has significant positive effect on the subjective happiness of middle-income groups.For the agricultural household groups,the traditional social network has a significant positive impact on the promotion of happiness,and the influence of the modern social network on its happiness is not significant,but it has a significant effect on the happiness of the non-agricultural population.Modern social networks play a more important role on men's than women's promotion of happiness.At the end of this paper,the author analyzes the mechanism of social network's influence on happiness,and concludes that the social network influence on residents' happiness via influencing the social trust and interpersonal trust.Through the expansion of social networks,residents participate in various social organizations and communicate with others to enhance the sense of trust on the government,all kinds of authority and other people and thus enhance their own happiness.
