English is an international language that is the most widely used in the world,it has become an important tool for all countries and peoples to communicate. Our government makes English language courses as one of the main subjects of basic education, however, the focus of English education is often focused on the improvement of students' reading, grammar, vocabulary and writing skills, and we may seriously neglect the training of speech ability.Correct pronunciation is the premise of language communication, and it is the basis of the correct spelling of English vocabulary. When students learn English, they have the difficulties in pronunciation of some English words, students often automatically in the native language of similar sounds to replace,it causes the pronunciation to be specious and is easy to produce the ambiguity,it is the negative transfer of language. In this study,we compare the characteristics of regional dialects with English language in Heilongjiang province and explore the typical problems of Heilongjiang province dialect area students make in learning a foreign language by means of the theory of language negative transfer. The aim is to cooperate the students to eliminate the negative transfer effect of dialect area of Heilongjiang Province on the English language learning, and explore a more standardized and effective teaching strategies for English pronunciation. In this study,a questionnaire survey of students in a junior middle school in Suihua,Heilongjiang Province, and the English pronunciation test were conducted to understand the students' dialect background and pronunciation. The questionnaire is designed according to Wen Qiufang's standard on conducting study, which is having a high internal validity and extremely professional. The questionnaire contains fifteen questions.Through the statistical analysis of relevant issues options,to understand the basic situation of the students, dialect background and whether the mother tongue influence on the process of foreign language learning or not.Through the comparison of statistical analysis, the results are as follows:1.The students who participated in the questionnaire use Heilongjiang dialect frequently in the usual time to communicate with others. Most students often use dialect to communicate, and most of the people in daily communication also speak dialect, only a few students think that they have no dialect accent. The daily context, the function of dialect in Heilongjiang province can not be ignored, the influence of dialect that students learn English pronunciation is inevitable.2.Most students think that they do not grasp the standard pronunciation of English well, and the lack of awareness to the importance of speech learning.Students usually in English pronunciation of the practice and interactive communication is less, watching English speech videos or listening to English speech audios is not much, they have not formed the habit of practicing English speech.3.Most of the students involved in the research think that there are similarities between mother tongue pronunciation and English pronunciation. They use pronunciation in their mother tongue instead of the difficult pronunciation in English, and use Chinese to label English phonetic symbol. It is believed that the dialect accent will have a negative effect on the standard pronunciation of English.4.There is no difference between long vowels and short vowels in Chinese. The pronunciation length of each pronunciation is basically similar. There is no need to continue to lengthen the time of sound. In the English language, the division of vowels is more detailed, and the pronunciation of the vowels is very strict. Many students involved in the test have confusion in the long vowels and short vowels.A typical language phenomenon in Heilongjiang dialect is flat cacuminal confused. The students participate in the investigation in English pronunciation reflect the confusion between flat and cacuminal.5.In English, diphthongs slide more quickly. The strength of vowels is relatively independent, while the length of Chinese diphthong is short.Influenced by their mother tongue. When students read English diphthongs, they often ignore the shape of mouth and the pronunciation position, they often read compound fine in Chinese instead of diphthong and the pronunciation is not the right place.6.English pronunciation contains consonant clusters, most of the students participated in the test are influenced by the open syllable of mother tongue, according to the native pronunciation habits, the students often add a[?]behind a consonant in a closed syllable or between two consonants in consonant cluster. There is no clear consonant in the phonetic composition of Chinese, which is produced by the vibration of the vocal cords. But in English phonetics, voiceless consonant pronunciation was not required vocal cord vibration. When the students are reading the voiceless consonants, they may involuntarily add /?/or/u/ behind the voiceless consonants,it makes the vocal cords vibrate to produce the phone, this makes the monosyllable word incorrectly read the disyllable, makes the voiceless consonant voiced.7.In English pronunciation,we may not find the similar phone in Chinese and Heilongjiang dialect.Students often automatically in the native language of similar sounds to replace,it causes the pronunciation to be specious and is easy to produce the ambiguity, for instance /?/,/e/ etc.At last, this paper also makes a research on the negative transfer coping strategy of Heilongjiang dialect to English speech sounds acquisition.
