Teachers achieve their educational goals mainly through language expression,the new curriculum emphasizes that teachers and students need to develop an equal dialogue during the teaching,and therefore how to use language becomes more important.Therefore,this study mainly discusses the different teacher talk between expert teachers and novice teachers in high school and concludes the different effects on students' learning.This study mainly uses the Naturalistic Inquiry,through analyzing the classroom recording,observation,interviews and questionnaires,a large number of data about teacher talk is collected in expert and novice teachers' teaching.From the questionnaire and the interview,the author sums up the impact on student learning because of different teacher talk.This study aims to analyze the teacher talk of the two kinds of teachers from the aspects of the quantity,quality,teachers' question,teacher feedback and interactive modification.During the study,the author selects six teachers in ChangLe No.2 Middle School,including three expert teachers and three novice teachers,and explores the similarities and differences between their teacher talk.The study finds that expert teachers speak less than novice teachers;As for the quality of teacher talk,expert teachers use more Chinese than the novice teachers,but the novice teachers focus too much on the fluency of their talk,and neglect the communication with students;Expert teachers are more adept at using referential questions to stimulate students;In the interactive modification and negotiation,expert teachers are better at communicating with students;On the feedback,both expert and novice teachers can use positive feedback,but the expert teachers provide specific and detailed feedback.Considering the influence on students' learning,comprehensible language input,the guidance of teacher talk,the clarification request from teachers and positive and specific feedback do have active effects on students' learning.Through contrasting the similarities and differences of teacher talk between expert and novice teachers,this thesis tries to reveal the real situation of English teaching.Meanwhile,it also hopes to discuss how to use the teacher talk effectively,and make it beneficial to students' language learning.
