Objective: Tai Chi exercise has a positive effect on the health of the knee, which may be related to its unique biomechanical characteristics. In this study,we select the typical step action of Tai Chi to analysis its kinematics and dynamics characteristics, combine the finite element model simulation, explore some biomechanical problems in the process of action, and compare it with jogging, walking. Methods: Recruiting a Tai Chi practitioner, using the motion capture system and threedimensional dynamometer to synchronize the kinematic and kinetic data of walking, jogging and Brush-knee and Twist-step.Based on the MRI images of the same subject, the finite element model of the right knee was established and verified experimentally. The kinematic and kinetic data collected were used as boundary and load conditions, and the data of the three actions were introduced into the finite element model to calculate and compare the biomechanical responses of articular cartilage and meniscus. Results: Compared with the walking and jogging, the movement pattern of the Brush-knee and Twist-step has a greater knee movement range, the smaller peak value of ground reaction force. The finite element simulation shows that the stress of the articular cartilage and meniscus is smaller and the stress area changes more during the action. Conclusion: Compared with jogging and walking, the Brush-knee and Twist-step has a greater range of joint movement, and the peak value of contact stress on meniscus and cartilage is smaller, the area changes more,Tai Chi on the rehabilitation of knee disease may be related to it.If the action is not correct, there is a greater risk of injury.
