Study On American Higher Education Idea

America as a great power of education,has the world's largest and most advanced education system,attracting talented people from all over the world.Prosperity of its existing,rather than in the 1980 s reform is inseparable,guide the reform of higher education idea,reform of current higher education in America still profound influence.Since the reform of China's education system in 1980 s,higher education has achieved a leap-forward development,and has achieved popularization of higher education successfully in just ten years.But how to be a good job that change from a big higher education country to be a powerful higher education country has become a focus of all walks of life in the comprehensive and deep reform period.To learn from the experience and lessons of America in the reform of the 1980 s,we can provide some reference for the establishment of a world-class education with Chinese characteristics.There is a complex background of American higher education in 1980 s.On the one hand,economic crisis of the capitalist in the early 1980 s has made a serious decline in economical strength of American and made the daily operation of colleges and universities hard than ever.At the same time,because of the influence of international democratic movement,the United States domestic political movement come and go,calling for the reform.On the other hand,by the influence of third technological revolution,the communities of American have aware of the importance of high and new technology,and have increased the investment of technology,they required colleges and universities to provide more intellectual support.However,the higher education of this period has failed to adapt to the development of new situation,and fall into a crisis which include decline in qualities of education and imbalance of teachers.In order to make the higher education out of trouble,American government make a second reform of higher education after ww2 which take “pursuit of excellence” and “fair” as core concept.Though established the good coherent of middle education and higher education,made the students more engagement into study,built new basic class and take attention on teachers' team,so that stimulated the potential of higher education.As economic and political situation recover,the implementation of concept of higher education in The United States has achieved a great success,specifically in students' great performance in grades and abilities,and richer in content in study.At the same time,there are also some deficiencies in the process.This study draws experiences and lessons in American reform and combine with the current reality of our country put forward some suggestions: The bridging work should ensure the sharing of quality education resources;Advocacy the setting of general curriculum;Strengthen the construction of teachers' teams.Because of the differences in economics,politic,history,culture of two country,when we learn the lessons from the conception of high education in American should combine the reality of our country.
