As one of the four basic skills of language learning, writing plays an important role in junior middle school English teaching. However, most students can only use simple,Chinese-type sentences. They just translate the main points of the composition requirement.Besides, they pay much attention to the grammar mistakes and the word number. They hardly use authentic and useful lexical chunks that have appeared in the textbooks.Teachers also have different kinds of problems in writing teaching. They try hard but are not satisfied.Adopting questionnaire survey, interview, classroom observation and experiment as well as other methods, the author carries out an action research on junior middle school English writing teaching to solve the problems. The research contains five stages:preparation, the first stage, reflection, the second stage and reflection.During the second stage, the author leads students to accumulate textbook lexical chunks, write the first draft, revise the draft by combining peer correction and teacher feedback and write the final draft.Through the research, the process writing method develops students' writing interests and confidence. After several times' trying and adjusting, the final drafts made by students are smooth and native, with authentic and beautiful lexical chunks in it.Peer correction and teacher feedback combination is of great help to the efficiency of composition correcting.
