A Study On The Construction Of Characteristic Disciplines In Local Universities

Local comprehensive university is an important part of higher education system in china.Under the background of the popularization of higher education,the rapid development of local comprehensive universities have played a very important role in the development of higher education in china.However,the competition of local comprehensive universities is becoming more and more fierce.In order to have an invincible position,they need a new way of running universities with characteristics.October 2015 the Chinese State Council released the statement"Coordinate Development of World-class Universities and First-class Disciplines Construction Overall Plan".The construction of "double class"is another significant measure to strengthen the quality of higher education after the "211" and the "985" Progect.At present,the domestic colleges and universities have being carried out the construction vigorously,so Guangxi University must also seize this opportunity to promote the "Double First-Class Plan".At present,the university has made some achievements,but compared with universities located in the eastern part of China,its whole level of discipline construction is still weak.Therefore,in order to satisfy the needs of local economic and social development,Guangxi University should forge the characteristic disciplines firstly to create the competitive advantages of disciplines.This paper starts with the basic concepts and characteristics,then compares and analyzes the construction of discipline and specialty,and put forward the concept of characteristic discipline.Secondly,through the analysis of the applicability of the theory of competitive advantage,the paper sums up the influencing factors of the competitiveness of characteristic disciplines.Thirdly,introduces the construction experience of characteristic disciplines in local comprehensive universities included Guangxi University at home and abroad,then analyzes the existing problems.Finally,put forward the countermeasures of characteristic discipline construction of Guangxi University under the "Double First-Class Plan"background,including the goal,ideas,primary contents,and put forward the main mechanism of the construction of discipline characteristic.There are two main innovations in this paper:on the one hand,there are few researches focused on the construction of characteristic disciplines in local comprehensive universities,this paper analyzes the meaning,characteristics and influencing factors of the construction of characteristic disciplines which can aoofor some ideas for similar researches;on the other hand,by means of taking Guangxi University as an example,this paper can provide some references for other local comprehensive universities.
