In recent years, due to territorial issues in our country and neighboring countries dispute continuously, the historical map in persuading some countries that have ulterior motives to provide important evidence for us.But the author found that under the high pressure of college entrance examination baton,the history teaching in today middle school, historical maps are not very good use, there are still many problems, such as the students by rote, still see map reading level is weak, lack of historical space concept, due to the historical map is more complicated, and in daily exercises every low of historical maps, such as resistance, fix more attention on the knowledge but ignore the appearance of capacity for students to get practical history knowledge, improve their cultural literacy,establish perfect the reasonable view of the history of the space is very bad.In history teaching, if teachers can make full use of good historical map this curriculum resources,will largely stimulate the students’ intention of historical study, make students form good history space consciousness, which is good for students to learn history curriculum.This article in total covers fore parts, the first part is introduction, mainly includes the research significance about the article, the existing research results, the main research methods.This paper bag in the first part mainly discusses the historical map were summarized, including its interpretation, species and peculiarities.According to the property, partial correlation, and the content of historical map space quality and quantity of the line, we will divide it into a great many types.Map has the main characteristics of richness, intuitive and diversity, some characteristics such as historical geography is comprehensive and dynamic.The second part mainly analyzes the historical map in the important meaning in the history teaching, it is significative to arouse the students’curiosity in the face of history, promotes students grasping the historical details, can cultivate students’ space thinking ability, to foster students’ human emotions,good attitude and correct values on life.Which cultivate the students’ emotional attitude and values from the students’ patriotic emotion and the environmental protection consciousness to the paper. The third part were analyzed from the points of view of teachers and students the problem of the use of our historical maps.Of historical map such as teachers, they lack of enough attention, not get the utmost out of the curriculum resources, in addition,the lack of students’ ability and methods of training and a demonstration way.And students main existence space and the concept of chaos cannot overall analysis of the historical map effectively.Aiming at the problems we said, we should be based on the student in the middle school history teaching, choice the scientific and typical historical maps, use of visual, mingle the pictures and words.we should according the principle which putting the whole map in the first .Both vertical and horizontal history, photos, and to set priorities, to the point, but also pay attention to the ancient and modern control and the full use of multimedia technology, high efficiency, the use of scientific history maps.
