| Since the reform and opening up,China’s foreign direct investment has maintained a rapid growth,at the same time gender pay gap of all levels have shown a growing trend.Gender disparities in income at the same time,we are thinking of FDI exactly what impact on the gender pay gap?Mechanism,the direction and magnitude of its impact,how is it?In this paper,to answer for the above question.This paper reviews the theoretical basis of previous research on the trade impact of income,(CHNS)the micro-database to study the effects of FDI on the gender pay gap based on our Nutrition and Health Survey data Chinese Residents use of empirical research methods,including direct wages variable descriptive statistical analysis and regression analysis.By 1989--2011 Different gender pay gap between men and women divided into relatively few on,we found that high-income gender pay gap has narrowed trend,while low-income gender pay gap is widening.In the analysis of the current situation of foreign direct investment,we found that since the reform and opening-scale foreign direct investment growing,source of foreign direct investment from Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan in Asia to labor-intensive to technology-intensive to gradually shift master of the United States and Western European countries.Studying the effects of foreign direct investment on China’s labor income,we find that foreign direct investment in different sectors to promote the upgrading of labor income levels.In foreign investment and the income gap regression analysis,we found that the overall expansion of foreign direct investment in our country’s gender pay gap.In the sub-sector analysis,we found that only foreign direct investment expanded the gender income gap between China’s manufacturing industry,while the service sector does not have a significant impact.We combine industry is divided into different skill levels show gender pay gap of FDI in manufacturing only low-skilled labor has a significant influence expanded.Further analysis,we found that foreign direct investment has changed the urban and rural labor force employment options.The main effect of employment created by foreign direct investment attracted a large influx of rural labor force,but in the process of entering foreign income rural men only have a significant role to enhance the cause of this phenomenon because of the presence of rural a large number of surplus labor,low-skilled labor supply exceeds demand,and thus lower cost discriminatory discriminatory preference employer paid,female labor force in rural areas in order to gain an advantage in the competition,had to accept wages lower than men,and because of widespread female labor force in rural areas low human capital,can not occupy a major position in the enterprise,so income stagnation or slow growth in men,which led to the income gap between low-skilled manufacturing group further expanded.The urban female labor gradually with the increase of foreign capital from the manufacturing sector and turn to primary services,urban male labor force also increases FDI primary services choose to work,and in the process of urban labor into the primary service industry,the rural women due to human capital and other reasons domicile at a disadvantage in the competition,had to withdraw from the primary services.FDI did not have a significant impact on the selection of senior employment services. |
