In recent years,with the development of quality education and the implementation of the new curriculum,as an important aspect of classroom reform,English classroom language practice activities,have received more and more attention.The research of language practice activities is growing day by day.However,in fact,English language practice is still the weak link of the English teaching.The author studies the language practice activities by using the classroom observation of high-quality classes in order to explore their characteristics and regular patterns.Therefore,there are great theoretical value and practical significance for providing suggestions for normal class English teaching.The author chooses the teaching videos of thirteen English teachers who take The Eleventh National Junior High School English Demonstration Lessons as samples of the research,and take the class language practice activities as the main observation content,and the teachers' teaching behavior and students' learning behavior as the main observation angle.what's more,the author chooses seven observation points,such as the teachers' teaching methods,the contents of activities,the types of activities,the natures of activities,the forms of activities,the targets of activities and the feedback reforms of activities.In order to learn about the features of the seven observation points,the author compiles the observation scale of language practice activities of high quality classes of junior high schools.Then the author uses the statistics scale of teachers' teaching methods,the statistics scale of the contents of activities and the types of the activities and so on for making further observation of the samples and analysis of the records.All these aim to find out the characteristics of language practice activities of high quality classes of junior high schools.Based on behaviouristic psychology,humanistic psychology and communicative view of language,the author analyses the characteristics of language practice activities in high-quality classes of junior high schools,and provides guiding suggestions forJunior high school English teaching.Major findings are summarized as follows: The teaching method of high quality class is various.The content of activities is mainly about discourse.The types of activities are mainly group discussion and situational dialogues.The nature of activities is mainly about meaningful practice.The organizational forms of activities are mainly about group work.The target of the activities is diverse.The feedback forms of activities are diversified.According to the conclusions above,this paper suggests that junior high school English teachers should ensure diversification and optimization of teaching methods,paying more attention on discourse,carry out variety types of activities,paying more attention on meaningful practice,encouraging more group work and pair work,diversifying the target of activities and considering different feedback forms.
