As an essential element of mastering a language,vocabulary has always been the focus of many language learners and educators.Memorizing the words meaning represents a serious challenge for language learners.It is not a short-term task,but a task which is closely related to vocabulary revision.Although students read the words every day,and instructors use different strategies to enhance students' memory,these efforts are often met with frustration.The English review lessons are of great significance to the improvement of vocabulary memorization,but vocabulary revision is ignored for a long time.Currently,the vocabulary review class is boring,the review method is mechanical and rigid,and plenty of students feel tired about the vocabulary review class.Grade Twelve is the most intense year of high school,the vocabulary memory tasks of this stage are heavy,and learners are tend to forget the meaning of words frequently.Therefore,it is particularly critical to explore effective ways of vocabulary review teaching,so as to help Grade Twelve students reduce the difficulties of words memorization.The semantic associative memory strategy is applied to Grade Twelve English vocabulary review lessons.During the experiment,the author carries out the curriculum vocabulary test,immediate dictation tests,delayed dictation tests and vocabulary memory competition in both experimental class and control class.Furthermore,interviews are implemented in the experimental class before and after the experiment.The conclusions of these collected data are as follows: firstly,under the influence of the semantic associative memory strategy,the efficiency of students' immediate and delayed memorization is enhanced;secondly,the students' vocabulary size is expanded;moreover,their interests in vocabulary review class become strong,and they start to enjoy the vocabulary review class.This study confirms the effectiveness of the semantic associative memory strategy in the actual vocabulary revision lessons,and it can provide some references for the current educators,which has a practical significance to their classroom teaching.
