Since 1979,China has started to implement the one-child policy, which curbed the trends of rapid population growth and contributed greatly to economic and social advancements. However,it also brought some negative effects. The most striking one was the presence of the large number of single child family.By 2013,this policy has been implemented for more than 30 years. The children which gave birth in that period have grown up and got married. Those parents have been retired and needs insurance. For those families, the single child has to be burdened with high pressure of four aged people and one or two children, which is a common social problem.Based on that, this research, taking Changchun city as an example, adopts qualitative and quantitative methods together, investigated 500 parents with single child. After analyzing these data, this research shows the difficulties in caring those aged people. And then put forward some countermeasures to solve it.This research consists of the following sections. The first part is the introduction. It summaries the background and significance of this research, combs, reviews the existing literature and illustrates the research approach and defines the core concepts. The second part,by questionnaire, introduces the basic information of the respondents, and analyzes the status quo about how the only child support their parents. The third part explores the dilemma in insurance in Changchun family.Lastly, this research puts forward to solutions to this predicament. The conclusion, conducted by analysis of feedback data, demonstrates that elder support has featured prominently in one-child family, which represents in the following there aspects: first, the only children are generally limited in financial ability, although there is a huge economic disparity among all families. On such occasion, they are burdened with heavy pressure to pay the expense in elder supporting, child raising and self-development;second,in daily care, they find it much harder to take good care of their parents while they have spent a lot energy and time on work and baby caring;third,it is much common that the elder fail to meet their spiritual demands. The flow of migrants and solitary lifestyle of senior citizen have incurred the imbalance between the only children with limited energy and their parents who require a mental comfort, leaving the dilemma in elder supporting in its walk.As for the reasons to support the one-child family, this study mainly shows in the following two aspects: first,as the one-child policy is unique to China, there is no precedent to go by;all we can do is proceed in the light of trial and error.Second,China's social security system with sound pension system has not been built comprehensively, especially in the one-child family support, there is a lot of shortcomings. Therefore,it is urgent to establish the old-age service system in this respect. On that note, the author puts forward to several methods encompassing strengthening governmental management and refining the relevant policies and regulations, especially the social security laws and regulations, making the aged to change their ideas, and encouraging the social participation. That is how we can solve the plight of the one-child family pension, and effectively alleviate the pension pressure for one-child family.
