English writing in senior high school is very important and difficult in the process of teaching and learning.At the same time,it is also an essential skill.So does feedback in English writing.However,when the author devotes herself into the English teaching,she finds that these two aspects are not so satisfying in Urumqi Senior High School.There are some problems in English writing and the model of feedback.Most scholars both on abroad and in China do theoretical and statistical research from different aspects on these two aspects.The research on abroad is mostly in ESL.In addition,the objects of the research in China mainly focus on undergraduates and Xinjiang has less such researches.Contrastive analysis is more than single analysis both on abroad and in China.Therefore,this study takes senior two students in Urumqi Senior High School as the objects and applies the method of contrastive analysis in order to provide some meaningful complementary for our English writing.The study aims to explore the effects of “teachers' feedback + peers' feedback” and “only-teachers' feedback” on ESL writing in senior two students in Urumqi Senior High School.It aims to improve the teaching of English writing in Xinjiang.The results of the research are as the followings: The two classes' grades of English writing both improve after applying two different models of English writing for 12 weeks.Contrastive class doesn't have apparent differences,while experimental class does have.At the same time,the post-grades of experimental class is over the traditional class and the experimental class has apparent differences.The revelations of this study are as followings: 1)On the aspect of theoretical analysis,this study applies contrastive analysis and analyzes the data with SPSS.The research in some ways demonstrates an effective model of ESL writing feedback which can improve the ESL writing feedback in China.2)On the aspect of teaching instruction,this study advises numerous English teachers have to organize flexible English teaching activities,innovate the models of English writing and revise the English composition another two times.
