Factors Influencing The Employment Of Higher Vocational College Students

At the end of last century,as an important part of China' s regular higher education,higher vocational education began to develop rapidly.The development of higher vocational education has helped delivered a vast amount of professional skilled talents to society.Many graduates of higher vocational colleges were even more skillful than those of key college and universities.Against this background,development of the system of higher vocational education has received more and more attention from all sectors of the society.At the same time,the government' s inclination in policy given to vocational education has been heaved increasingly.After a while,higher vocational colleges ' enrollment scale grew rapidly.With the extension of sizes of higher vocational colleges,the number of their students also increased.Currently,the number of such students already occupies half of the total number of China's higher education students.Accompanied with the massive increase of graduates of higher vocational colleges,employment quality of higher vocational college graduates has become a major difficult problem.Under such circumstances,deep research work around the current employment status of higher vocational college students is carried out in the academic world.Researchers analyze factors influencing employment of higher vocational college students from various aspects and in an in-depth manner,including subjective factors of the students such as their employment orientations,social concepts and ability and external factors such as socioeconomic status,employers' demands and national policies,providing solutions to solve the difficult social problem of employment of higher vocational college students.This research investigates problems related to employment of students of higher vocational colleges in China through questionnaire survey,literature research,interviews and communication and other methods.The theoretical foundation of this paper is laid based on the collected mass data about factors influencing employment of higher vocational college students.On the basis of collecting data,relative authentic material is obtained through a sample survey with graduates of higher vocational colleges in Xiamen as the respondents.Then creative proposals and suggestions are put forward combined with the reality.This research mainly analyzes in detail factors influencing employment of higher vocational college graduates from three perspectives of school education,society and graduates themselves,and raises feasible suggestions.First,it concludes and analyzes the current situation of research in the field in China and abroad,laying the theoretical research foundation of this paper.Then,the author investigates and analyzes the present situation of employment of higher vocational college graduates through literature research,questionnaire survey,interviewing method and so on,and performs SWOT analysis of the employment situation of higher vocational college students with the situation in Xiamen as an example.Finally,according to various factors influencing employment of higher vocational college graduates,the author puts forward pertinent advice and suggestions on how to improve the employment quality of students of higher vocational colleges in Xiamen.
