In rural areas,the majority of high school English teachers believe that improving students' writing is a headache problem in English class.At present,there are a variety of teaching methods in English writing teaching,but each method has its own advantages and disadvantages,there is not a single teaching method which can solve the problems of writing teaching of students in rural high school.With these phenomena in sight,the author tries the Eclectic Teaching Approach as an effective way to improve the students' English writing capability.The paper presents a study focusing on the issue of the implementation of the Eclectic Teaching Approach in teaching English writing in the EC and in order to check the effect,the author carried out research methods including questionnaires,experiments,tests and interviews.It is found that the Eclectic Teaching Approach is an effective teaching strategy and can effectively improve the English writing ability of students in senior high school in rural areas and stimulate the students' enthusiasm and initiative in English writing.The paper consists of five chapters.Chapter one briefly introduces the background,purpose,significance of the paper and its structure.Chapter two talks about research situations of the Eclectic Teaching Approach at home and abroad,as well as the theoretical basis of the teaching method.Chapter three focuses on the methodology of the study,such as procedures and data collection.It gives details on the choice of subjects,what instruments to use,what procedures to follow and how to collect data and to do analysis.Chapter four concerns the results and discussion of this study.It presents a series of cases and the data collected from questionnaire,tests and interviews and makes discussions on the statistics of it.In Chapter five,some suggestions and implications are given for improving the effectiveness of English writing study in senior school in rural areas.
