| With the ongoing development of educational reform,talent picking through the college entrance examination is more and more diversified,and more important path is art or P.E.exam.Many schools have strengthened education of art and P.E.students,and many students also choose to work hard for art or P.E.exam.For art and P.E.students,due to poor basis or absence from regular schooling as they attend centralized art and P.E.training before the college entrance examination,most students perform rather poorly in the college entrance examination;and their English performance is especially poor.Their listening and speaking ability is poorer.To improve the status of art and P.E.students are inactive in English listening and speaking classes and attach little importance to English listening and speaking,English teachers need to find out the reasons for the inactive mindset of art and P.E.students in learning English,and study relevant solutions accordingly.This is the core topic of this thesis.Key issues discussed by this thesis are as follows:1.Existing problems: Through class observation in six classes selected by the author,the author found that art and P.E.students are mostly inactive in English listening and speaking classes.2.Reasons for the problems: The author analyzed the reasons for inactivity of art and P.E.students in English listening and speaking classes from the aspects of students,teachers and learning environment through the questionnaire method and the interview method.Student factors mainly include English learning motive,poor basis,worry about English learning,herd mentality,lack of confidence,and passive learning attitude,etc.Teacher factors mainly include teaching method,in-class feedback,and question-raising approaches,etc.Learning environment factors mainly include traditional viewpoint effect,English class atmosphere effect,single English assessment system,and teacher-student relationship,etc.3.Solutions: Starting from the three aspects of students,teachers and learning environment to find out proper measures which can effectively solve the inactive mindset of art and P.E.students in English listening and speaking classes.Firstly,students shall recognize themselves objectively,regard mistakes properly and haveoptimal learning morale.Secondly,teachers shall arouse learning motive of students,select course-books properly,raise questions to enlighten students,organize effective cooperative study means,improve the quality of their own,and be good at demonstration.Finally,the learning process is decided by intrinsic causes and also affected by extrinsic causes.We should cultivate independent learning ability of students,resort to flipped classroom to create a natural class atmosphere,establish a pluralistic and diversified assessment system,and promote the benign development of teacher-student relationship,so as to improve the status quo of inactive mindset of art and P.E.students in English listening and speaking classes. |
