| As modern information technology develops, expanding network size requires a higher-performance server which is important in network device. Telecommunication operators also pay closer attention to the flexibility, scalability and stability of network architecture, so ATCA draws their attention and plays a vital role in the most advanced telecommunication network. As a new technology, ATCA have to experience several difficulties to succeed in the market and foremost among these is the issue of interoperability. Thus the concept of IPMI(Intelligent Platform Management Interface) has been introduced. The users may make use of physical health characteristics of the IPMI monitoring server such as temperature, voltage, work condition of the fan, power status and so on. IPMI can not only manage the server effectively but improve the traditional systematic monitor management methods. Nowadays, it has become a key technology how ATCA is managed by IPMI intelligently.Based on a super base station project in an institution in Beijing, the essay explains how IPMI succeeds in centralized management and control of the server ATCA and introduces the following research work.1. It analyses and studies the architecture of the super base station and the systematic principle of its kernel management and control module OAM. Moreover, it introduces the methods how the server ATCA is controlled by IPMI and managed by IPMITOOL that is based on IPMI theory.2. It puts forward a new way how IPMITOOL automatically transmit management and control command to ATCA by SHELL in a circular manner at a regular time. It also studies and analyzes the source code of IPMITOOL and completes SHELL programming on the original basis to make the server ATCA is real-time monitored by IPMI.3. Super base station system architecture is divided into network management station and agent which means IPMI managing and controlling ATCA. In order to achieve the function of intelligent management and control, it introduces the method of interaction between agent and network management through the combination of NET-SNMP and IPMI. It also analyzes the source code IPMITOOL by GDB debugging tool under LINUX and corrects and combines the source codes of IPMITOOL and NET-SNMP in some degree. It gives details of the function how the server is managed and controlled by the method of combination of NET-SNMP and IPMI and carries on a test to validate the results.This essay firstly studies the application of IPMI in the server ATC and its function of management control in the server. Then it explains how ATCA is managed by IPMI through SHELL technology automatically on the basis of original technology. Finally it introduces the interaction between agent module and network management module in the super base station through the combination of NET-SNMP and IPMI. |
