Research And Implementation Of Data Warehouse Based On Hospital Information System

In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology and wide application, information construction has been vigorously developed in healthcare industry. Digital medical equipment and information system become more and more in hospital, resulting in a large amount of historical data has been accumulated in hospital database. When faced with so much decentralized and heterogeneous medical data, the hospital would like to study and make full use of these valuable information resources and then make knowledge discovery through data analysis and data mining. The construction of data warehouse is the first step to achieve this goal for hospital. To Build a data warehouse, can not only solve the issue of manage structured and unstructured data, but also provide data analysis and data mining environment, so as to provide scientific guidance for clinical research, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and provide decision support for the leadership of the hospital. It is significant for the development of medical services.This thesis analyzes the current situation of the business in client’s hospital and points out the importance of building data warehouse. It has carried on the design and implementation of hospital data warehouse, and finally realizes multidimensional data analysis and application. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1、Design of system architecture for data warehouse in medical field. SQL Server development tool is used to build the hospital data warehouse system. Considering the software and hardware environment and the economic conditions, this thesis designed and implemented the architecture of the data warehouse.2、Research the design process of the data warehouse. Emphatically discussed the architecture of data warehouse design and modeling technology. The overall structure of the data warehouse system adopts a hierarchical design. Realize the dimension model of data warehouse、design dimension tables 、fact tables and data models, discusses the modeling techniques of data warehouse in detail.3、Study the ETL(Extraction 、Transformation、 Loading) technology and design the ETL work flow which is suitable for the hospital according to the characteristics of medical data, and finally realize the integration of heterogeneous data of hospital. By adding an independent Data Quality Schema and combined with user interface development to realize the flexible data filtering, abnormal control in the process of ETL, exception handling, etc.4、The realization of a medical data warehouse through SQL Server platform and focuses on the analysis of the Analysis Services. Design multidimensional datasets, and realize multidimensional analysis and application of the history data in the hospital.A hospital data warehouse has been studied and implemented in this paper. All the historical data has been integrated successfully. An on-line Analytical Processing system which is steady and reliable has also been realized and it shows good performance. It provides help and support for decision making and management for the hospital.
