With global warming increasingly serious, carbon emissions are gradually attracting people's attention, carbon footprint is a hot issue in the field of low-carbon research, the carbon emissions of manufacturing process is an important part of the product's carbon footprint. As the manufacturing process typically includes a series of complex processes, which leads it quite difficult for the carbon emissions calculation. ZigBee is a short-range wireless communication technology based on IEE802.15.4. Compared to other wireless communication standards, ZigBee has great advantages in power and cost, it is one of the most important technologies to build wireless sensor networks. In this paper, ZigBee technology is used to set up a carbon emissions data collection system of manufacturing process, which can greatly reduce the workload of carbon emissions data collection, but also support the low-carbon manufacturing research and the carbon footprint accounting.Firstly, a wireless data collection system based on ZigBee technology is designed for the carbon emissions in the manufacturing process in the paper. By analyzing the carbon source of the manufacturing process, the corresponding collection modules are designed, and the data is transported to the server for integration by ZigBee wireless network, and then the total carbon emissions come out.Then, based on the particularity of the ZigBee data collection system for manufacturing process carbon emissions, a new algorithm which is named Energy and Path ZigBee routing is put forward in the article. EPZBR algorithm designed an appropriate routing cost function, considered the residual energy and the rate of energy consumption comprehensively and made a better energy balance of the network. Simultaneously, some auxiliary measures are used to improve routing efficiency and reduce the routing delay, such as neighbor table, limiting the maximum routing hops, controlling routing directions based on the position relationships among the nodes and so on. Finally, NS2 simulation showed that EPZBR algorithm made the balance between the energy balance and reducing routing latency, which can ensure the ZigBee network both a long lifetime and high efficiency.Finally, in order to verify the feasibility of ZigBee data collection system of manufacturing process, the energy collection process is tested. Machine power curve collected by the power module is used to test the reliability of the data, the power consumption obtained by wired and wireless is used to verify the reliability of the network. Experimental results show that the ZigBee data collection system of manufacturing process is desired to be widely applied.
