QR code(Quick Response Code)is a popular two-dimensional matrix that randomly consists of black and white square modules.With the application of QR code is increasing,the aesthetic QR codes and security issues are concerned by researchers.This paper will focus on the two aspects of the QR code.In order to improve the beauty,readability and security of QR codes,the research contents and innovations are as follows:First,while the appearance of QR codes are improved,it may turn out to be unreadable if the modules of the QR code are changing inadequate.Therefore,to resolve this problem,we propose a method to generate the aesthetic QR code,which is based on the RS(Reed-Solomon)error correction mechanism in QR code encoding rules.In the first step,the positions of codewords is marked as layout and the salient regions of the background image is detected to generate the saliency map.The saliency values of codewords is calculated and sorted,then the proper codewords are selected as changeable regions.Finally,the hierarchical module replacement rules are proposed.Compared with the existing methods,our algorithm can highlight the important regions of background images.In addition,the aesthetic QR codes will apply in the padauk furniture laser engraving experiments.Second,we propose a method to improve the security of the aesthetic QR code based on digital watermarking.Because of the coding rule is in public,it's easy to tamper the QR code.Most of methods are based on the binary image or gray image of QR code,while less to the aesthetic QR code image.To solve the problems of modify the modules or the background image of the aesthetic QR code,the modules' number of the aesthetic QR code are counted,and hash the text message in QR code;then compress these two information to construct the watermarking,and it is embed in DCT field.The experiment shows it is resist to some certain degree of JPEG compression,rotation attack,and tamper proofing.The method can improve the security of the aesthetic QR code,and detect the tempered code in real-time.
