With the development of computer graphics and image processing technology, there are a lot of computer aided 2D animation technologies, and 2.5D animation models combines both the 2D cartoon animation and the rendering 3D models to assist the 2D cartoon animation, which is of great help to animation. So this paper proposes the 2.5D animation models based on key view, which focuses on the rotation of the animation. This paper comprises three parts: the first part discusses to structure smooth curve according the given point. We divide animation character into different layers according to the characteristics of the curve, and then the curve contour is obtained by cubic spline curve interpolation through the proper point coordinates. The second part is the deformation of the graphics. Regard the deformation of a single graphics as the deformation from source polygon to target polygon. The intermediate polygon can be got by the deformation algorithm. And to get the contour of intermediate graphics through the cubic spline curve interpolation. According to a certain algorithm to make them equal when there are different vertices. The third part is calculating the Z coordinate values in the rotation. The value of Z coordinate determines the shelter relation between each layer. Finally we combine the graphics according the value of the Z coordinate, and the shelter relation can be showed by coloring. In this process, we need front view, side view and top view of animation, and the front view and side view as a critical view, the top view is used to calculate shelter relation between each layer. In this paper, we neither use the 3D modeling, nor need the specific three-dimensional coordinates, only through layer of the top view to get the shelter relation, which makes the result have pseudo 3D effect, and due to the characteristics of line to keep the hand-drawn art style of 2D animation.
