As the rapid development of microelectronics, wireless communication, sensor technology, embedded technology and distributed information processing technology, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) has been widely used in every field. Its application range has expanded from the military field to the medical health, environmental monitoring, smart home, industrial production and other fields.In this paper, the routing protocol of wireless sensor network is studied as the research object. We make an intensive study of WSN routing protocol proposed by scholars and institutions at home and abroad, analyse the characteristics of planar routing protocol and clustering routing protocol, and compare the advantages and disadvantages of the distributed strategy and centralized control strategy in the clustering protocol. According to the comparison of the wireless sensor network systems already deployed, we find that the protocol adopting centralized control strategy has a very positive effect on the development of wireless sensor networks in the future. At present, the centralized clustering routing protocol is mostly in the stage of theoretical research, verified by simulation experiment. This paper has aimed at the problems above, with the detailed research work as following.First of all, through theoretical research on clustering routing protocol combined with the practical application scene, an improved routing protocol called 2C-CTP is proposed. By adding a command distribution mechanism in the CTP protocol and modifying the data forwarding engine and routing engine of CTP,2C-CTP has characteristics of centralized control and clustering.2C-CTP not only combines the advantages of clustering routing, but also keeps the merits of CTP. It can avoid "energy-hole" problem caused by uneven energy consumption effectively and extend the network life time significantly.Secondly, countering the problem of congestion of cluster head node caused by some clustering result in 2C-CTP, some existing congestion control strategies are analysed. Combined with the characteristics of 2C-CTP practical and application scenarios, this paper introduces a new congestion control strategie based on buffer scoring, cluster head congestion scoring and cluster member nodes classification. This strategie relying on operational principle of 2C-CTP, makes the cluster head nodes possible to reduce congestion adaptively. And the strategie does not bring a lot of extra energy consumption. The experimental research shows that 2C-CTP with congestion control strategie can reduce congestion effectively and improve the efficiency of network data transmission.
