Design And Implementation Of A Military Education And Training System Based On Web VOD

With the development of computer and Internet technology, network in our daily life plays an increasingly important role. Currently, there are a lot of mature and developed network application platforms in Internet, especially the Web video on demand(VOD) system, which has been favored by more and more users.VOD is a system that enabled users to play the video program based on their needs, and which changed the traditional passive broadcast mode into the active demand mode, users have more autonomic selectivity. Making use of this system, uses can save much time and energy to watch more and greater video sources.In order to improve the utilization efficiency of the integrated information network within the army,it is a good choice that an education and training system based on Web VOD is established by streaming media technology, the military can take advantage of Internet technology’s fast, real-time and efficient features to let the majority of officers and men access more and better educational resources.According to the investigation of requirement of majority officers and men for VOD based on integrated information network environment in military, a new Web streaming VOD system that enable online interactive is designed and developed. Since the system conforms to B/S architecture, users can search, browse, and comment on video online on this system. After registration and login, users can provide their detailed personal information, upload the video, and administrators can also add, delete and modify user’s information, video resources and reviews information etc. The whole system consists of four parts: user management, video playback, video search and permission administration.This paper begins with an introduction of development of VOD system abroad and at home, as well as an analysis of two different mode of VOD system(client mode and browser mode); followed by a specific study of technologies of design and implementation in Web VOD system; Based on analysis and comparison, a good design is presented which is very suitable for the armed forces; finally, the specific implementation process is also given. In terms of design, the current relatively mature Web dynamic develop technologies includes Html5, Java Script, Div + CSS technology is used on system. The mature and stable MVC design pattern is followed; the popular PHP+Apache+Mysql technology is also adopted in development, the testing results show that the system can work with high efficiency, stable operation, which achieves the purpose of the design.
