Digital borehole camera technology is a new technology, which is used to collect, measure, store, analyze, display and apply the information of core wall in the digital way. With t his technology, the concept of "digital borehole" came into being. It can be said that it is the perfect combination of information technology and digital technology. O f course, only the original data of the core wall is not enough, it is also required further processing and appropriate conversion of original data by other means, the data will be presented in the form of graphics, image. Therefore, the "digital borehole" can be understood as a digital reproduction of the real core wall and its related information.Firstly, the basic concepts and the practical application of the well logging are briefly introduced. The development of optical imaging logging technology in well logging technology is discussed in this paper. The composition, principle and characteristics of the borehole camera, borehole TV and digital borehole camera technology are discussed. The development status of digital borehole camera technology in optical imaging logging is described.Secondly, from the basic concept of digital image, the operation principle and operation flow of digital image processing are discussed in detail. Visual Studio Microsoft 2008, MATLAB and other software are used to pre process, expand and mosaic the original image of core wall which obtained by digital borehole camera technology. Finally, according to the image obtained after stitching, the 3D model is established by 3DMAX software, and the model of texture mapping is based on the OGRE image rendering engine and the final results are displayed. After 3D reconstruction, the image of the core is relatively intact, and the geological structure of the core can be displayed visually. The research in this paper provides some reference value for the application in practical engineering of the theory and technology in the image processing, and it also has some implications for geological research.
